  • My Firefox started downloading very slow 1/5 the speed of ie. It happened when Adobe Flash updated to 11.x something. I actually re-installed a clean version of Window s(Vista) and added very few outside programs. When my browser upgraded Adobe flash , speed tests showed the slow result. I knew it was not a corruption issue.

Search for Adobe Flash uninstall. Then search for flash 10 player. When I installed Flash 10.x my download speed went from ~3mps to ~20mps.
